Eisenhower Knights
Boys
Coach (season, record): Dave Allenson (1st season as boys coach, 12th season overall, 173-100)
2010-11 overall record: 5-17
2010-11 region record (place): 2-6 (tied for fourth)
2010-11 playoffs results: Did not qualify for the District 10 Class A playoffs.
Top player lost: Andrew Santo
Top returning players: Joshua Deppas, Ryan Williams, Aaron Lundmark, Coline Shine, Andrew Onoratti, Nathan O’Brien
Outlook: Eisenhower went through some transition this fall with the sudden resignation of coach Steven Norris. Dave Allenson, the girls coach at Eisenhower, has taken over and will look to get the Knights back on track. The good news for Allenson is most of Eisenhower’s squad is back. Andrew Santo graduated but leading scorer Joshua Deppas and leading rebounder Ryan Williams are back. Deppas provides solid senior leadership, while the Knights’ strong junior class of Williams, Aaron Lundmark, Colin Shine, Andrew Onoratti and Nathan O’Brien will be important for the Knights. Eisenhower has experience and talent back this winter but getting used to a new system and a new coach will be key.

Girls
Coach (season): Mike Logue (1st season)
2010-11 overall record: 9-13
2010-11 region record (place): 6-6 (fourth)
2010-11 playoffs results: Did not qualify for the District 10 Class A playoffs
Top players lost: Lauren Blanco, Lauren Sherry
Top returning players: Lyssa Knapp, Alyssa Peterson, Halie VanOrd, Kari Santo, Brooke Stanton
Outlook: Mike Logue takes over the program after Dave Allenson moved over to the boys’ program. Practice begins on Nov. 18 with the season starting on Dec. 9. Eisenhower will have to replace two big-time contributors in Lauren Blanco and Lauren Sherry. Blanco, an all-region second-team selection, led the Knights in scoring last year, while Sherry was the leading rebounder. Lyssa Knapp returns this season after leading Eisenhower in assists last winter along with fellow juniors Alyssa Peterson and Halie Van Ord. Sophomores Kari Santo and Brooke Stanton also return. Santo tore her anterior cruciate ligament last winter and missed the second half of the season. Eisenhower has a young team this season and will need the right system to come together as a program quickly.
