Linesville Lions
Baseball
Coach (season, record): Todd Greenawalt (3rd season, 26-13)
2011 overall record: 5-11
2011 region record (place): 3-3 (tied for second)
2011 playoff results: Did not qualify for the District 10 playoffs.
Top players lost: Kevin Seger, Brandon Javorich
Top returning players: Brandon Sherman, Adrian Onderko, Luke Graham, Jeremy Santarelli, Ian Brown, Jake Andrew
Assistant coach: Steve Mickle
Outlook: Linesville went through a tough season in 2011 and is looking to use that experience to improve. The Lions will have to replace Kevin Seger, an outfielder that hit .340 with seven home runs last year, along with Brandon Javorich, who hit .302. Linesville will turn to Brandon Sherman, Adrian Onderko, Luke Graham, Jeremy Santarelli, Ian Brown and Jake Andrew. Onderko, Graham and Sherman are projected to start on the mound, while David Drischler, Jon Onderko and Matt Zello could step up and see a few innings each this spring. Jon Onderko along with Drischler and Brendan Shaw are new to the varsity team and will look to make an impact right away. The Lions have eight of their 10 starters back, including their designated hitter, providing the program with plenty of leadership. Linesville is in a winnable region and could rebound in a big way from a below .500 season last year.

Coach (season): Megan Storck (1st season)
2011 overall record: 3-13
2011 region record (place): 3-13 (seventh)
2011 playoff results: Did not qualify for the District 10 playoffs.
Top player lost: Lauralee Clements
Top returning players: Jenn Krider, Megan Sindlinger, Challen Litwiler
Assistant coaches: Jim Moyer, Stu Storll
Outlook: Linesville will be under new leadership this spring as Megan Storck takes over as the new head coach. The Lions lost a big-time leader in Lauralee Clements to graduation but the return of senior Megan Sindlinger along with Jenn Krider and Challen Litwiler. Sindlinger will look to take on a leadership role this year, while Krider is a returning all-region selection. The Lions’ sophomore class will be key as Linesville has plenty of holes to fill. The Lions will also have an impact from the freshmen class, including pitchers Lexi Palmer and Sahara Blair along with utility player Brooke Phelps. Linesville has a new system with a new coach but developing the program might be the most important goal this season.
