Bradford soccer sweeps D-9 titles

The Bradford boys and girls soccer teams won their respective District 9 Class AA championships this week. The boys, who defeated Punxsutawne 2-1 in double overtime to win D-9, will play the loser of the District 7 championship between Hampton and Mars in the first round of the PIAA playoffs. The earliest the D-10 champion would see the Owls would be in the PIAA semifinals.

The Bradford girls could see D-10 right away in the PIAA playoffs. The Owls, who defeated Clearfield 3-0 in the D-9 championship, will take on the loser of Juniata and Forest Hills. If Bradford wins, the Owls would see the District 10 runner-up in the second round, if either Villa Maria or Mercyhurst Prep defeat their first round opponent. The D-10 champion will be on the other side of the bracket.
