Millcreek scored two runs late to break a 1-1 tie and defeat Post 11 3-1 in the loser’s bracket championship of the American Legion Erie County playoffs. Millcreek will take on Albion Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Northwestern High School. If Albion wins, it is the champion with an undefeated run through the playoffs. If Millcreek wins, the two teams would meet against Wednesday at 8 p.m. to decide the champion.
Both teams advance to the Region 8 tournament this weekend regardless of the outcome of the championship round. The Region 8 tournament will take place at St. Marys beginning Saturday through the following Wednesday. French Creek Valley, Meadville and St. Marys have already clinched spots in the tournament.
