Linesville volleyball – The Lions went undefeated this season to claim the PIAA Class A championship. Linesville finished 25-0 in dual meets, including a Region 2 championship and a District 10 Class A title.
Maplewood volleyball – The Tigers weren’t expected to make a run like they did this fall. Maplewood made the playoffs, became the District 10 Class A runner-up and made its way to the PIAA semifinals. If it weren’t for rival Linesville, the Tigers could have made it to the PIAA championship.
Mercyhurst Prep boys soccer – The Lakers earned a return trip to the PIAA finals by beating Sewickley Academy 5-1 in dominant fashion Tuesday. Earlier, Mercyhurst claimed a 6-0 quarterfinal win over Karns City and a 3-2 first-round win over Seton-La Salle.
