Farrell Steelers
Coach (season, record): Justin Gregorich (2nd season, 0-14)
2012 overall record: 0-14
2012 region record (place): 0-12 (seventh)
2012 playoff results: Did not qualify for the District 10 playoffs.
Top player lost: Nicole Weiser
Top returning players: Alysia Jackson, Tyler Lampkins, Tamiah Tarver
Assistant coaches: Angie Santell, Jermaine Holden
Outlook: Farrell went through some rough patches with new head coach Justin Gregorich last spring but the Steelers could break through this year. Gregorich believes the program is developing and headed in the right direction. The biggest key will be improving the offense this season. The Steelers will have to replace Nicole Weiser but the young team will have three leaders back in Alysia Jackson, Tyler Lampkins and Tamiah Tarver. Jackson is back to anchor the infield at shortstop and Lampkins and Tarver will make up the battery. Lampkins is a solid pitcher but will need help from her defense for Farrell to not only win a few games but contend in Region 1.

Farrell Steelerettes
Softball
Coach (season): Justin Gregorich (1st season)
2011 overall record: 0-13
2011 region record (place): 0-12 (seventh)
2011 playoff results: Did not qualify for the District 10 playoffs.
Top player lost: Gabrielle Logan
Top returning players: Nicole Weiser, Marissa Friday, Brianna Wilkins
Assistant coaches: Angie Santell, Jermaine Holden
Outlook: Farrell is basically starting over with a new head coach in Justin Gregorich. The Steelerettes are a young team with only one senior a few juniors. Gabrielle Logan graduated but Nicole Weiser, Marissa Friday and Brianna Wilkins are back. Sophomores Dominiq Savage and Janee Avery could be impact players on the varsity level this season along with freshmen Angelique Austin, Jacqueline Chambers, Tyler Sanders-Lampkins and Temaiah Tarver. With plenty of youth and a new coach, winning won’t be as important as building the program is this season.
