Farrell Steelers
Coach: Marsha Fields (2nd season, 4-12)
2012 overall record: 4-12
2012 region record: 2-12 (seventh)
2012 playoff results: Did not qualify for the District 10 playoffs.
Top player lost: Johntae Scott
Top returning players: Key-Asia Oatis, Whitney Murray, Jakayla Samuels, Cierra Pickens, Kiara Wade
Assistant coaches: D’Ericka Stewart, Nicole Summers
Outlook: Farrell coach Marsha Fields is in the process of rebuilding the program. Fields led the Steelers to four wins in her first year and is looking for more this season with plenty of experience back. Farrell will have to replace libero Johntae Scott, who graduated in the spring. The Steelers return Key-Asia Oatis, Whitney Murray, Jakayla Samuels, Cierra Pickens and Kiara Wade. Oatis and Samuels are back at outside hitter, Murray at middle hitter and Jazmine Pegues at libero. The Steelers could also receive immediate contributions from underclassman Kiara Wade. Farrell has some senior leadership back this year but it will need plenty of help from the lower levels. The Steelers play in a tough region with several top programs in Mercer County. Farrell has experience back but will need to build team chemistry in camp to keep progressing as a program.

Farrell Steelers
Coach (season): Marsha Fields (1st season)
2011 overall record: 4-12
2011 region record (place): 2-12 (eighth)

Outlook: Farrell looks to change direction under first-year coach Marsha Fields this season. The Steelers lost two all-region players to graduation in LaShelle Platteborze and Tyra Robinson. When Conneaut Valley travels to Farrell on Thursday it will be for more than just a boys volleyball match. The two schools will be raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project during Military Night at E.J. McCluskey Gymnasium. The junior varsity game begins at 6 p.m. followed by a military-related program before the varsity match.

All former and current members of the military will be admitted for free and students will collect monetary donations. Farrell will also be wearing special fatigue uniforms. For information on the event, call Farrell at 724 509-1247.
