The PIAA made its way through several hearings and the volatile football schedule issue Friday morning at its board meeting in Hershey, but it ran out of time for McDowell’s hearing. McDowell, which sent several administrators across the state to Hershey for a hearing, is appealing District 10′s new policy to force teams back to D-10 for the playoffs if they leave for the regular season. This would likely end McDowell’s WPIAL association in football. The WPIAL told McDowell two years ago they had to be all in with the regular season and playoffs or all out.
McDowell’s hearing is now set for Jan. 12 at the PIAA office in Mechanicsburg at 4 p.m.

There continues to be coverage of this topic, but no explanation of the D10 committee’s reasoning. It seems the committee does whatever it wants, whenever it wants and answers to nobody. I’m glad McDowell is fighting this. I hope they win. I also hope Wally and his boys get replaced and the sooner the better.
