District 10 track and field athletes, led by several jumpers and the Hickory throwers, had a big day with 10 event wins Friday at the Butler Invitational.
Among the most impressive performances were those turned in by Cathedral Prep’s Joe Oduho and McDowell’s Anna Chodubski in the long jump.
Oduho, the defending D-10 Class AAA champion, won the long jump with a remarkable leap of 23 feet even. Meanwhile, Chodubski, the defending D-10 AAA girls champ, won the Butler long jump with a jump of 18 feet. Both Oduho and Chodubski placed third in the PIAA in 2011.
Oduho led D-10’s top-three sweep in the long jump, as Prep’s Malik Moffett (22-5 1⁄4) placed second and McDowell’s De’vion Tate (21-11 3⁄4) took third. Tate also placed third in the triple jump (44-7 1⁄2).
Like Tate, Chodubski claimed third in the triple jump (36-3) Friday.
