PIAA basketball second round sites announced

District 10 teams will hit the road for the second round of the PIAA basketball playoffs. On Tuesday, defending PIAA Class AA champion Villa Maria will take on Bishop Canevin at 6 p.m. followed by Girard and Cranberry at 7:30 p.m. at Allegheny College. The same night, General McLane and Beaver play Sharon High School at 7:30 p.m. The winner of the GM-Beaver game will likely get New Castle on Friday.

VisionQuest and Vincentian Academy will play in a Class A boys game at Sharon High School at 6 p.m., while West Middlesex and Kennedy Catholic will be in a doubleheader at Clarion University. Middlesex gets Johnsonburg at 6 p.m. followed by Kennedy and Ridgway at 7:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Prep heads to Sharon to take on Central Catholic at 7 p.m. in a Class AAAA game, while the Mercyhurst Prep boys play Monessen at New Castle at 7:30 p.m. The Kennedy girls take on Clarion at Butler at 7:30 p.m., while Franklin takes on Chartiers Valley at New Castle at 6 p.m.
