Sarah Meyer

Strong Vincent swimmer Sarah Meyer made waves with her accomplishments in the past week.

The junior won four events to help Strong Vincent improve to 2-3 overall and in Region 3 with a 106-8 victory over East Thursday.

 She won the 50 freestyle in 29.01 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 
1 minutes, 18.83 seconds. She also won as part of Strong Vincent’s 200 medley relay team, which finished in 2:13.12, and was on the winning 400 freestyle relay team, which finished in 4:31.52.

Lily Engro

Engro has been a solid contributor for the Colonels all season in Region 3 action. The senior from Northwest Collegiate Academy has set two Strong Vincent records this season, and last week she turned in three victories in a Vincent loss to Warren.

Engro won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2 minutes, 15.52 seconds and took first place in the 500 free in 5:56.51. She also won as a member of Vincent’s winning 400 relay team.

Both of her individual times against Warren weren’t far off the school records she set earlier this season. She owns the Vincent marks of 2:12.55 in the 200 freestyle and 5:56.22 in the 500 free.
