Kenzie Schley

Kenzie Schley is turning into an up-and-coming area swimmer for Villa Maria.

The water polo player finished in the top 20 in two events in last year’s District 10 Class AA swimming championships and has been impressive as a sophomore.

Schley recently won four events in a win over East, including the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly, while also swimming for the winning 200 medley and 400 free relay teams. Schley also won the 100 backstroke and was on the winning 400 free relay team in a win over Strong Vincent.

Abby Quinn

Quinn is among the Victors’ young standouts on a team loaded with underclassmen. The sophomore showed some of her potential Jan. 17 during a Region 3 meet against powerhouse McDowell.

Even though the Trojans won the meet 91-79, Quinn was at least partially responsible for both of Villa’s event wins. She turned in the Victors’ only individual win when she touched first in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1 minute, 3.62 seconds. She also swam a leg on the winning 200 medley relay.

Quinn is a big contributor for Villa in the pool during the fall season as well. She was a key player on the Victors’ water polo team, as she helped the team earn its first-ever state tournament berth.
