Jump Serve – Greenville

Greenville Trojans
Coach (season): Dawn Mitchell (7th season)
2011 overall record: 2-13
2011 region record (place): 2-12 (seventh)
2011 playoff results: Did not qualify for the District 10 Class AA playoffs.
Top players lost: Brianna Igersheim, Katie McMillen, Ashley Hilton
Top returning players: Shaina Marini, Kara Pitts, Maddie Williams
Assistant coach: Renee Howard
Outlook: Greenville struggled last season and will need to rebuild quickly this season to compete in a tough region. The Trojans graduated Brianna Igersheim, Katie McMillen and Ashley Hilton leaving some big shoes to fill. Igersheim was a four-time letterwinner and the top middle hitter for Greenville, while McMillen and Hilton were three-year letterwinners. The Trojans return three starters, including all-region second-team middle hitter Shaina Marini. She is joined by libero Kara Pitts and setter Maddie Williams. Greenville has some work to do to rebuild the program. It won’t be easy as the Trojans will take on powerhouses like Slippery Rock, Hickory and Wilmington throughout the fall.
