Prep wins the shootout!

9:48 p.m. – We are headed to penalty kicks! What a match.

9:47 p.m. – Jason Roos gets a red card with 19 seconds left!

9:41 p.m. - Mercyhurst Prep beats Seton 3-2. Prep and Peters have 6 minutes left in the second overtime.

9:34 p.m. – 13 minutes left in the second overtime. Each team has some great chances but no one can score.

9:22 p.m. – We are going to a second overtime at the Vet. Prep and Peters tied 4-4. Another red card is issued to the Peters bench in between periods.

9:16 p.m. – Peters goalie Chris Gagianas makes a huge save! Jake Harringer gets a soft red for the Indians arguing that a card should have been issued for dangerous play. It was Harringer’s second yellow, resulting in a soft red. Peters is only down one player though as a team can replace a player ejected with a soft red.

9:10 p.m. – We are midway through the first overtime and Prep and Peters are still tied 4-4.

9:05 p.m. - Jose Abdala scores to give the Lakers a 3-2 lead.

8:58 p.m. – Peters scored twice down a player. Plenty of fight left in this Indians team. The player that was ejected is Matt Venanzi, Peters’ top scorer and all-state selection last year.

8:54 p.m. - We are headed to overtime at the Vet. Prep and Peters Township tied 4-4.

8:44 p.m. - Matthew Girouard ties it! 4-4 with 9:46 left.

8:43 p.m. – Seton misses a penalty kick. Still 2-2 right before half.

8:38 p.m. - South Park scores 45 seconds into overtime to end General McLane’s season 2-1.

8:37 p.m. – Seton-La Salle ties it 2-2 right before the half.

8:34 p.m. – The General McLane volleyball team lost the first two sets and is trailing 10-7 in the third.

8:28 p.m. – Max Weber scores to give Mercyhurst Prep a 2-1 and Peters cuts the Prep lead to 4-3 on a goal by Troy Eskew . GM and South Park are going to overtime.

8:23 p.m. – It is getting a little ugly here as a Peters Township player has received a red card and a coach is ejected. The other two coaches get yellow cards.

8:20 p.m. – 12 minutes left in regulation and McLane is still tied 1-1 with South Park.

8:18 p.m. – Greg Roos fires a shot from 10 yards out to beat the keeper. 4-2 Prep with 29 minutes left.

8:15 p.m. – Max Weber ties the match up 1-1 for Mercyhurst Prep.

8:12 p.m. - Pine-Richland sweeps McDowell 25-19 to end the Trojans’ season.

8:10 p.m. - Matt Venanzi beats the keeper to cut the Prep lead to 3-2 with 37 minutes left.

8:07 p.m. - Seton-La Salle takes a 1-0 lead on Mercyhurst Prep in a Class A boys match.

8:05 p.m. – Fort LeBoeuf earns a trip to York with a 25-19 in the third set.

7:55 p.m. - Halftime at the Vet. Prep leads 3-1 and is in control of this one.

7:47 p.m. – Pine-Richland takes the second set 25-22. Fort LeBoeuf takes the second set 25-22 by scoring five points in a row after being down 22-20. Maplewood wins in three and moves on York!

7:42 p.m. – General McLane and South Park are tied 1-1 at the half.

7:39 p.m. - Connor Pletz scores on a loose ball! Prep leads 3-1 with 15 minutes left in the first half.

7:36 p.m. – Mars beats Mercyhurst Prep, the defending PIAA Class AA champion, 2-0.

7:33 p.m. – Duska scores! 2-1 Prep with 19:30 left in the first half.

7:23 p.m. - From Behrend, Pine-Richland beat McDowell 25-19 in the first set and Fort LeBoeuf took the first set 25-13 against Bradford.

7:20 p.m. – Mercyhurst now trails 2-0 with 16 minutes left and Prep has tied the match on a Sean Culver goal! 30 minutes left in the first half.

7:16 p.m. - Zach Partyka scores for Peters Township and he runs right to the Prep student section to taunt them a little bit. This game has taken on a life of its own. 33 minutes left in the first half.

7:07 p.m. – Mercyhurst is still down 1-0 to Mars and South Park has just tied things 1-1 with McLane.

7:04 p.m. - General McLane with an early 1-0 lead over South Park on a goal by Brian Olsen.

6:52 p.m. - Mercyhurst and Mars are about to start the second half. Mars leads 1-0.

6:39 p.m. – Harbor Creek gets their first PIAA win in school history. The Huskies win 2-0 over Elizabeth Forward.

6:35 p.m. – Shady Side ends Wilmington’s season 1-0 in Class A girls.

6:28 p.m. - 12 minutes left and HC leads 2-0. Mars has controlled the play in the MP game but the Lakers just missed on two close shots.

6:21 p.m. – 20 minutes left and HC leads 2-0. Looks like the Huskies are moving on to Saturday.

6:17 p.m. - Mars takes a 1-0 lead on Mercyhurst with 23 minutes left in the first half.

6:10 p.m. - Mercyhurst and Mars are scoreless through 12 minutes at Hampton.

6:08 p.m. – Yount scores again! 32 minutes left and the Huskies are in control.

6:05 p.m. – Megan Yount heads it off a Steph Corey pass! 1-0 Huskies with 35 minutes left.

5:47 p.m. – Halftime at the Vet with no score. HC has peppered the crossbar to no avail.

5:44 p.m. - Wilmington and Shady Side Academy are scoreless at the half.

5:31 p.m. - 17 minutes left in the first half and we are still scoreless at the Vet.

5:18 p.m. - We are 10 minutes into this one with no score between Harbor Creek and Elizabeth Forward. No score in the Wilmington game either.

5:08 p.m. - We are finally underway between Harbor Creek and Elizabeth Forward. We will also have updates from the Wilmington girls game periodically.

4:36 p.m. – It’s a final. North Allegheny ends McDowell’s season with a 3-1 win. The Harbor Creek-Elizabeth Forward match should begin on time at 5 p.m. Maddie Layman scored with 15 seconds left for the Tigers.

4:22 p.m. – McDowell hasn’t had many chances this half and really needs to step up in the intensity to tie this one. 2-1 NA with 13 minutes left.

4:07 p.m. – NA takes a 2-1 lead behind a goal from freshman Savana Yurick with 27 minutes left. She scored from about 25 yards out.

4:04 p.m. – Natasha Lennox takes advantage of a mistake and ties the match! 1-1 with 30 minutes left.

3:59 p.m. – Katie Hohmann finally breaks through with a goal off a deflection. 1-0 NA with 34 minutes left.

3:43 p.m. – We’ve reached halftime and there is no score between McDowell and North Allegheny.

3:37 p.m. – NA has a shot go off the crossbar and the Trojan backline clears several loose balls! McDowell is playing well with 5 minutes left in the half. We are still scoreless.

3:26 p.m. – McDowell’s defense continues to keep the Tigers off the scoreboard. McDowell lost to NA 8-1 earlier this season but the Trojans are hanging tough with 14 minutes left in the first half.

3:11 p.m. - We are 10 minutes in and McDowell is doing its best to keep NA off the scoreboard. Coach Jason Perkins went with sophomore Crystal Flagg in goal and it has paid off so far for the Trojans.

3:00 p.m. - We are underway here at Veterans Stadium for the McDowell-North Allegheny girls match.
