Final Erie Times-News Breakout Football Player of the Week

Fans can vote for the Breakout Football Player of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. with the winner being featured in Friday’s edition of the Erie Times-News. Nominations are based on results called into the Erie Times-News. Fans are encouraged to submit nominations of players by Saturday night and coaches are encouraged to call in every result throughout the season. Players who have won the award this season are no longer eligible.

Spencer Bland, Sharpsville – Carried the ball 13 times for 149 yards and three touchdowns in a 36-0 win over Farrell in the District 10 Class A semifinals.
Jeremy Jancso, West Middlesex - Nearly completed all of his passes as he finished 14-of-15 for 170 yards and two touchdowns in a 44-34 win over Mercer in the District 10 Class A semifinals.
Wes Phipps, Grove City – Scored four touchdowns in a 49-0 win over East. Phipps finished with 74 yards on five carries and three catches for 129 yards.
Damion Terry, Cathedral Prep – Had a hand in six touchdowns to lead the Ramblers to a 49-7 win over Meadville in the D-10 Class AAA semifinals. Terry ran for 114 yards on 12 carries and four touchdowns while throwing for 167 yards and two TDs.
Mike Nardone, Hickory – Ran for 42 yards, threw for 84 and had a hand in three touchdowns to lead the Hornets to a 35-0 win over North East. Nardone ran for an 18-yard touchdown while throwing for two.
Matt Astorino, General McLane – Ran for 152 yards on 16 carries, including two touchdowns, in a 21-18 win over Wilmington.
Denzel Jones, Strong Vincent – Had a hand in four touchdowns in the Colonels’ 42-31 loss to State College. Jones ran for touchdowns and threw for two, finishing with 103 passing yards and 134 rushing yards.
