Erie Times-News Breakout Wrestler of the Week

Fans can vote for the Breakout Wrestler of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. with the winner being featured later this week in the Erie Times-News. Nominations are based on results called into the Erie Times-News. Fans are encouraged to submit nominations of players by Saturday night and coaches are encouraged to call in every result throughout the season. Players who have won the award this season are no longer eligible.

Levi Catalfu, Corry – Won the 132-pound division at the North East Wrestling Classic.
Cody Copeland, Greenville – Listed first in the Pennsylvania Wrestling Rankings’ Class AA poll at 152 pounds.
Joe Hibbler, Seneca – Edged Harbor Creek’s Jake Newara 8-6 for the 145-pound title at the North East Wrestling Classic.
Wes Phipps, Grove City – Remained perfect at 18-0 by winning the 182-pound title at the North East Wrestling Classic.
Shawn Reynolds, Cambridge Springs – The 195-pounder helped the Blue Devils to a 6-2 record with an 8-second pin of Jamestown’s Jacob Koza.
Xavier Ross, Sharon – Improved to 17-1 by winning the 152-pound division at the North East Wrestling Classic.
Adam Sallot, Harbor Creek – Senior moved to 22-3 with the 126-pound title at the North East Wrestling Classic.
Alex Svetz, North East – Beat Saegertown’s Josh Tomiczek in overtime for his second North East Wrestling Classic title.
Tim Vargo, Union City – Won his second title (170 pounds) at the North East Wrestling Classic.
Tyler Vath, Saegertown – Freshman upset the top two seeds to win the 106-pound division at the North East Wrestling Classic.
