Fans can vote for the Breakout Team of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Friday at 4:59 p.m. with the winner being featured Sunday in the Erie Times-News. Fans are encouraged to submit nominations of teams by Tuesday night and coaches are encouraged to call in every result throughout the season.
Meadville volleyball – The Bulldogs held off Maplewood in five sets to move to 6-0 in Region 1.
Cathedral Prep tennis – The Ramblers finished the region schedule unbeaten and will be a tough out Friday in the D-10 Class AAA team championship.
McDowell girls track and field – Locked up the Region 5 championship on Tuesday by beating Villa Maria.
West Middlesex boys track and field – The Big Reds locked up the Region 1 championship Tuesday with a big win over Lakeview.
Grove City boys track and field – Clinched the Region 2 title by defeating Hickory.
Hickory girls track and field – Knocked off Sharon Tuesday to secure the Region 2 championship.
Meadville girls track and field – Defeated Corry on Tuesday to clinch the Region 3 title.
Cathedral Prep lacrosse – Locked up a spot in the District 10 championship by defeating Fairview 10-0.
Sharpsville baseball – The Blue Devils have won seven in a row and are a few wins from clinch the Region 2 title.
Saegertown baseball – The Panthers are 16-0 and have already clinched a share of the Region 4 title.
Grove City baseball – The Eagles moved to 7-0 in the region and have locked up at least a share of the Region 7 title.
Warren baseball - The Dragons have won seven in a row and are in control of Region 8. Warren also defeated Class AAAA power McDowell 3-1.
Titusville softball – The Rockets are 13-0 this season and clinched a share of the Region 2 title last week.
Sharpsville softball – The Blue Devils are rolling since an extra-inning loss to West Middlesex. Sharpsville has won six in a row and is starting to climb the Region 1 standings.
Cochranton softball – The Cardinals are on a 10-game winning streaks since their 1-2 start and are in first place in Region 3.
