Erie Times-News Breakout Team of the Week nominees

Fans can vote for the Breakout Team of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Friday at 4:59 p.m. with the winner being featured Sunday in the Erie Times-News. Teams who have won the award this season are no longer eligible. Fans are encouraged to nominate teams by 5 p.m. each Tuesday.

West Middlesex football – The Big Reds picked up a huge win over No. 4 Sharpsville to take control of Region 1.
Slippery Rock football – The Rockets moved to 6-0 with a 42-20 win over Warren.
Cathedral Prep football – The Ramblers held off McDowell 41-27 to pick up a huge Region 6 win.
Central Tech boys soccer – The Falcons upset McDowell 2-1 and moved into the thick of the playoff race.
Harbor Creek boys soccer – The Huskies remained unbeaten at 12-0-1 and are rolling this season.
McDowell girls soccer – The Trojans upset Mercyhurst Prep 2-0 and are 9-2-0 this year.
Mercer girls soccer – The Lady M’s knocked off Wilmington to move into first place in Region 1.
Hickory girls soccer – The Hornets are 7-0-0 in Region 2 and have only one loss this season.
Fairview girls soccer – The Tigers have dominated Region 3 with a 9-0-0 record.
Cathedral Prep cross country – Clinched the Region 6 championship Tuesday by defeating Meadville.
Maplewood volleyball – Moved to 9-0 on Tuesday.
Slippery Rock volleyball – The Rockets continued their perfect season at 7-0.
Meadville girls volleyball – The Bulldogs are unbeaten at 11-0.
Fort LeBoeuf girls volleyball – The Bison moved to 9-0 on Tuesday.
Meadville boys golf – The Bulldogs captured the District 10 Class AAA team championship.
Harbor Creek boys golf – Earned the District 10 Class AA team championship.
Mercyhurst Prep girls golf – The Lakers won the District 10 Class AA team championship.
McDowell girls golf – The Trojans took home the District 10 Class AAA team championship.
