Erie Times-News Breakout Team of the Week nominees

Fans can vote for the Breakout Team of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Friday at 4:59 p.m. with the winner being featured Sunday in the Erie Times-News. Teams who have won the award this season are no longer eligible. Fans are encouraged to nominate teams by 5 p.m. each Tuesday.

Greenville wrestling – Clinched a share of the Region 2 title and is one win away from locking up the region outright.
Reynolds wrestling - The Raiders keep rolling and are 6-0 in region matches.
General McLane wrestling – The Lancers moved to 5-0 in the region and 6-0 overall.
Fort LeBoeuf wrestling – The Bison are a perfect 3-0 in Region 3 matches.
McDowell bowling - The Trojans took control of the Metro League standings as Villa dropped into second place.
Fairview swimming – The Tigers moved to a perfect 6-0 in boys and girls.
Cathedral Prep swimming – The Ramblers keep rolling at 6-0.
Rocky Grove girls basketball – The Orioles picked up an important win over Farrell to move into a first-place tie with Kennedy Catholic.
Mercer girls basketball – The Lady M’s keep winning region games and are tied for first with Sharpsville.
General McLane girls basketball – The Lancers picked up a huge win over North East to stand alone in first in Region 4.
Villa Maria basketball – The Victors picked up a 24-20 rivalry win over Mercyhurst Prep to move into first place in Region 6.
Franklin girls basketball – The Knights are a perfect 5-0 in Region 5.
Conneaut girls basketball – The Eagles keep winning and are 5-0 in region play.
Kennedy Catholic boys basketball – The Golden Eagles keep dominating in Region 1.
West Middlesex boys basketball – The Big Reds are 5-0 in Region 2 and picked up a big win over Lakeview recently.
Mercyhurst Prep boys basketball - The Lakers routed Fairview to move into first place in Region 4.
Strong Vincent boys basketball – The Colonels knocked off Girard to remain in first place with General McLane.
Hickory boys basketball – The Hornets survived two overtime games this week to remain perfect in Region 5.
McDowell boys basketball - The Trojans keep playing well, including a blowout of DuBois and a close win over Girard.
