Erie Times-News Breakout Team of the Week nominees

Fans can vote for the Breakout Team of the Week on the top right corner of the page. Voting continues through Friday at 4:59 p.m. with the winner being featured Sunday in the Erie Times-News. Teams who have won the award this season are no longer eligible. Fans are encouraged to nominate teams by 5 p.m. each Tuesday.

McDowell bowling – The Trojans keep rolling in first place of the Metro League. McDowell is one win from locking up the league title.
Fairview swimming/diving – The Tigers boys and girls are undefeated in Region 2 and look like repeat region champions this year.
Cathedral Prep swimming/diving - The Ramblers are dominating in Region 3.
McDowell girl swimming/diving – The Trojans are in control of Region 3 with an undefeated region record.
Reynolds wrestling – Wrapped up the Region 1 championship on Tuesday with a win over Grove City.
Greenville wrestling – Is one win from winning the Region 2 title outright and is a high seed in the D-10 duals.
Fort LeBoeuf wrestling – The Bison are in control of Region 3 and will look for another D-10 Class AA title this weekend.
McDowell wrestling – The Trojans are on a roll, including an impressive win over Franklin Regional.
Kennedy Catholic boys basketball – The Golden Eagles are undefeated in Region 1 and look like the team to beat in Class A.
West Middlesex boys basketball – The Big Reds broke 100 points this past week and are on a roll in Region 2.
Saegertown boys basketball - The Panthers moved to 7-0 in Region 3 by defeating Youngsville.
Mercyhurst Prep boys basketball - The Lakers defeated Northwestern Tuesday to go to 9-0 in Region 4 and they are only a few wins from locking up the region title.
Girard boys basketball - The YellowJackets knocked off General McLane 48-44 to tighten up the Region 6 race.
Central Tech boys basketball – The Falcons earned a thrilling 82-81 overtime win against Strong Vincent.
East boys basketball – The Warriors picked up several impressive wins last week including a win over Class AAAA McDowell.
Sharpsville girls basketball – The Blue Devils moved to 8-0 in Region 2 on Monday.
Conneaut girls basketball – The Eagles keep rolling and have a two-game lead in Region 3 at 8-0.
Girard girls basketball – Picked up an important region win over General McLane.
Franklin girls basketball – The Knights are 7-0 in Region 5 and have a huge region game against Hickory.
Villa Maria basketball – The Victors upset Class AA powerhouse Bishop Canevin without Karlee McBride.
McDowell girls basketball – The Trojans wrapped up a share of the Region 7 title Monday.
Harbor Creek boys basketball – The Huskies picked up an impressive overtime win against Warren on Tuesday.
