2012 overall record: 6-11
2012 region record (place): 4-2 (second)
2012 playoff results: Lost to Conneaut Lake 15-5 in the District 10 Class A quarterfinals.
Top players lost: Aaron Jackson, Trevor Spicer
Top returning players: Ryan Williams, Kyle Hunt, Aaron Lundmark, Jeb Fedorchuk, Shane Arford
Assistant coaches: Cody Vincent, Ernie Carlson
Outlook: Eisenhower made strides last season before running into a talented Conneaut Lake team in the District 10 Class A playoffs. The Knights have an experienced group back but will have to replace all-region pitcher Aaron Jackson, who graduated, and transfer Trevor Spicer. The two leave big holes to fill this season. Ryan Williams, Kyle Hunt, Aaron Lundmark, Jeb Fedorchuk and Shane Arford are back this season to lead a strong Eisenhower team. Williams will help anchor the infield at first base and will see innings on the mound, while Hunt is a middle infielder and pitcher that led Eisenhower with 18 hits last season as a freshman. Lundmark is a leader behind the plate, while Fedorchuk and Arford are all-region outfielders. The Knights could also receive big efforts from several new players. Coty Cantrel is a senior transfer with good speed and will either play second base or in the outfield, while sophomore Logan Bellardo transferred in from Jamestown (N.Y.) and will likely play in the outfield. Casey Vincent, a freshman, could play some shortstop and see innings on the mound as well. Eisenhower has a strong defensive group this year but the Knights’ success could come down to pitching. Vincent and Hunt are solid pitchers but Eisenhower will need a few more to step up. A nice change for the Knights this season is depth. Eisenhower has plenty of players going after starting positions in camp which could up the level of its competition. The Knights will deal with Iroquois, Youngsville, Franklin and Titusville in region play this season. Eisenhower will need to beat out Iroquois and Youngsville for the Class A automatic spot or the Knights could contend for an at-large spot. Vincent and Hunt will rotate on the mound and at shortstop while Cantrel and Williams are in the infield. Third base is up for grabs in camp between Michael Spencer, Jake Lewis or possibly another player. Arford, Fedorchuk and Cantrel could be in the mix for the outfield as well as others.
