2013 Kickoff magazine cover

The 2013 Kickoff magazine has been completed, and this year’s cover subjects are the Girard senior duo of tight end Brian McNally and quarterback Joe Dunn.

McNally and Dunn have composed one of the most potent passing tandems in District 10 the past two seasons.  McNally is D-10’s active leader in career reception with 80s, while Dunn is the district’s active leader in career passing yards with more than 2,900.

Kickoff, a publication of the Times Publishing Company, will begin to show up on Country Fair shelves throughout northwestern Pennsylvania later this week and will be available at all Country Fair locations by Aug. 21.

This year’s magazine, the fourth edition of Kickoff, sells for $5 and includes 116 pages packed with stories, team outlooks, photos and statistics.

Pick one up soon at Country Fair.

  3. Curious sports fan says:

How and when does an athlete become nominated for athlete of the week voting?

    • Tom Reisenweber says:

The breakout athlete of the week polls run each week starting Sunday on the blog. Athletes can be nominated by fans by Saturday night each. Readers are asked to send e-mails to sports@timesnews.com with stats and numbers as to why that athlete should be on the poll.

      Thanks,
      Tom

I know this post is a couple days old, and I haven’t read the Kickoff magazine yet, but have you heard anything about offers that Trey Staunch from West Middlesex has received? I heard he’s gotten offers from Rutgers and Penn State so far, that was back in the summer, and I know for a fact he visited Penn State, but I was curious as to whether you’ve heard anything more.

    • Tom Reisenweber says:

      Jonathan,
He has been getting a lot of interest. I will look into a list of offers.

      Thanks,
      Tom

      Jonathan,
I was told he has plenty of interest but as a junior, no standing offers yet. Still another full year of recruitment coming. He has gone on several visits, including Penn State.

      Thanks,
      Tom

I figured that, I guess what I mean more was “How many schools are interested so far” but I worded it wrong.

Very nice, for a single A school like West Middlesex to have a D1 quarterback recruit.

    Should be interesting to see!
