Outlook: Iroquois continued its impressive run recently with another District 10 Class A playoff appearance in 2012. The Braves return an experienced team to chase another postseason spot. Iroquois will have to replace two leaders in Morgan Stetson and Alex Breski. Stetson was voted to the all-region first team as a goalkeeper last fall, while Breski is a two-time all-region selection on offense. With a big hole at keeper, all-region defender Rosemary Campbell will move into the net. She will have a strong defense in front of her, including Kara Wozniak, a first-team selection, along with Alyssa Blankenship, Lexy Blankenship and all-region second-team defender Courtney Mentley. Up front, the Braves have several scoring threats to count on. Courtney Herget was voted to the all-region first team on offense and is back along with second-team selection Mikayla Cagnoli and Abbi Young. The Braves will have to develop some depth and a few starters in camp but they have one of the more experienced teams back in Region 3. Fairview came down to Class A and won the D-10 title right away. Iroquois will look to knock off the Tigers not only in region player but district as well. The Braves have the talent and experience to compete for a D-10 title this season, but their ability to build chemistry and fill holes left by graduation will determine their success.
