The PIAA, which will celebrate its centennial on Dec. 29, was honored by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives last Wednesday.
Resolution 416 was introduced by Rep. Mark Painter, 146th District, and backed by Rep. Gene DiGirolamo, 18th District.
“We greatly appreciate Rep. Painter and Rep. DiGirolamo and all the members of the House for their support,” PIAA executive director Dr. Robert Lombardi was quoted in a news release. “(The) recognition of our association will propel us into the next century as we honor the past, celebrate the present and dream of the future.”
The PIAA’s 2013-14 fall season will officially conclude with its four championship football games the weekend of Dec. 13 in Hershey. Its winter season officially starts play Dec. 6.
